Lyreco Goodness Charity Dinner 2024: A Night of Heartfelt Generosity and Unforgettable Memories
On Thursday, 17th October 2024, we hosted the annual Lyreco Charity Dinner at the Park House Hotel in Shifnal, Telford – a night of heartfelt generosity, vibrant connections, and unforgettable memories. This year, we celebrated the outstanding work of our six charity partners: Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, The Hygiene Bank, Meals and More, Air Ambulance UK, pieta, and our internal initiative, Lyreco for Education.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended, donated, or sponsored the event, we raised an astonishing £38,250, which will directly benefit these vital causes.
Each year, as part of our Lyreco Goodness initiative, we partner with charities that share our vision of positively impacting society. These partnerships empower our employees and stakeholders to give back to the communities we serve. Whether it’s supporting cancer patients, providing emergency medical response, offering essential hygiene products, fighting child holiday hunger, aiding lifesaving services in Ireland, or promoting access to education in developing countries, our charity partners make a real difference where it’s needed most.
The evening began with welcome drinks and canapés, accompanied by a warm introduction from Tom Lloyd, whose music, ranging from banjo to guitar, set a wonderful tone for the night. Guests were also treated to live silhouette portraits by an Oxfordshire artist, capturing their likenesses with impressive accuracy.
For the first time, we hosted a raffle featuring prizes generously donated by Energizer, Xerox, Nespresso, P&G, Allied Hygiene, and Park House Hotel. Congratulations to the lucky winners, and a huge thank you to everyone who participated.
A special highlight of the evening was a heartfelt speech from Michael, whose charm and humour energised the room. His pride was evident as his teenage daughter took the stage, performing a beautiful acoustic guitar set, showcasing next-generation talent.
Guests enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, with a musical backdrop provided by Inferno Strings. The string trio enhanced the atmosphere with their unique blend of classical and modern music, creating a sense of elegance that echoed throughout the night. Later in the evening, local talent Callum Doignie, a finalist from The Voice UK 2023, wowed the audience with a stunning vocal performance that earned an encore.
For those seeking a bit of fun and mystery, a tarot reader was available later in the evening, offering guests a glimpse into their future.
It was a night filled with warmth, connection, and entertainment, thoroughly enjoyed by all while raising funds for causes close to our hearts. The Lyreco Goodness Charity Dinner continues to be a highlight of our annual calendar, and we look forward to continuing our mission alongside our incredible charity partners.
