Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure digital accessibility of Lyreco Webshop , there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Lyreco Webshop:

  1. Keyboard navigation: Missing or insufficient keyboard focus on some buttons or links because Legacy components were not designed with visible focus styles. We are updating global components to follow WCAG 2.1 focus visibility guidelines.

Solution: use the tab key and look for content changes if visual focus is unclear.

  1. Page structure: No “Skip to content” link is provided for keyboard users because this functionality was not included in the global page template. We plan to add a skip link in the upcoming redesign of the header.

Solution: use tab key to navigate through repeated elements manually.

  1. Images and media: Some images may lack alternative alt text because at text is not enforced during content upload. We are introducing alt text validation for content editors.

Solution: contact us if a missing alt text prevents understanding of key information.

  1. Cookie consent popups may lack proper ARIA labels: Cookie consent popups may lack proper ARIA labels because Some banners are provided by third-party scripts without accessibility configuration. We are replacing banners with compliant, custom-built solutions.

Solution: If you cannot dismiss a popup with the keyboard, contact our support.

  1. Headings and semantic structure: Headings may skip levels or be misused because inconsistent content structuring by local content teams. We are standardizing heading structure in all templates and CMS guidelines.

Solution:  use screen reader heading navigation (e.g. H key in NVDA) to find content blocks.

  1. Color contrast: Some text elements and buttons may have insufficient color contrast against the background because brand colors were implemented without consistently testing against WCAG 2.1 contrast ratios. We are reviewing and adjusting the color palette in line with accessibility standards, starting with key templates.

Solution: if you have difficulty reading certain content, please use your browser’s high contrast mode or contact us for assistance.
