Introducing NEMI Teas – A 2023/24 SSP Winner

A specialist London-based tea company that offers a variety of tea blends.

NEMI Teas help create opportunities for refugees to shape their own journeys, giving them an opportunity to contribute to society and its development. This is provided by giving them local work experience and job readiness skills to enter the UK workforce and integrate into broader society.

As a Fairtrade-certified organisation and an Organic-certified tea supplier, NEMI Teas truly are good for the people, and the planet too!

Who are NEMI TEAS??

NEMI Teas is a London-based tea company that offers Organic tea blends in plastic-free teabags and as loose-tea whilst providing training and job opportunities to refugees living in Greater London.

What do NEMI Teas do?

NEMI Teas is a specialist tea company and a registered social enterprise based in London. The company is a strong believer in creating positive change through business and provides employment to refugees to help them better integrate in the UK.

It provides training and job opportunities to refugees which allows the refugees to gain local work experience, boost their English skills, regain confidence and work on hospitality skills required to enter the UK food & beverage industry

why do they do it?

NEMI Teas are working to tackle SDG #8 of Decent Work & Economic Growth and SDG #10 of Reduced Inequalities across the UK. Due to opportunities not being equal for all and lack of integration of refugees in the broader society, the unemployment levels amongst the refugee communities in the UK sits over 20% compared to 4.3% for UK nationals!

“Its great that Nemi Teas are on our SSP. Their story of supporting refugees is inspiring and makes me want to drink more tea. Furthermore, the product taste great and helps to support our wider catering range.”
